Motorcyclist killed in hit by freight truck in capital

A motorcyclist was killed in a hit by a freight truck in the capital’s Jahangir Gate area. The incident occurred around 1 am on Sunday (May 17). Police said the deceased Zakaria’s village is Thakurgaon. He lived in Hemayetpur as well as a ride share in the capital.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased was going from Mohakhali to Bijoy Sarani with a passenger at night. When they reached Jahangir Gate, a nearby freight truck hit them. As a result, the driver along with the motorcycle fell under the rear wheels of the truck. This crushed part of his body. Later, passersby rescued him and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared him dead.
