Today’s Gold Price: May 17, 2026

Gold prices have fallen again in the domestic market due to the impact of the global market. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of a bhori of 22-carat gold by Tk 4,374 to Tk 2,38,121. BAJUS announced the new price in a notification on Saturday (May 16) morning. The new price came into effect from 10 am yesterday. Gold will be sold at the same price today and Sunday.
BAJUS said that the new price of gold has been fixed considering the overall situation due to the decline in the price of acid gold or pure gold in the local market. According to the new price, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk 2,38,121 per bhori (11.664 grams). In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been fixed at Tk 2,27,331, the price of 18-carat gold at Tk 1,94,847 and the price of traditional gold at Tk 1,58,689.
Earlier, the last gold price adjustment was made by BAJUS on May 15. On that day, the price of 22-carat gold was reduced by Tk 2,216 to Tk 2,42,495. At that time, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori was Tk 2,31,472, the price of 18-carat was Tk 1,98,405 and the price of traditional gold was Tk 1,61,605.
So far this year, the price of gold has been adjusted 65 times in the country’s market. Out of these, the price has been increased 35 times and reduced 30 times. On the other hand, the price of gold was adjusted a total of 93 times in 2025. At that time, the price was increased 64 times and reduced 29 times.
