Nusrat Tabassum’s nomination declared valid

The Returning Officer has declared the nomination of Jamaat-e-Taliban candidate and NCP leader Nusrat Tabassum valid in the election for the reserved women’s seat of the 13th National Parliament. Returning Officer Md. Moin Uddin Khan told reporters after scrutinizing the nomination papers at the Election Building on Saturday (May 2).
He said that Nusrat Tabassum’s nomination is valid. The matter will be officially announced after the formal proceedings. When Nusrat submitted her nomination paper after 4:19 pm, the last date for submitting nomination papers on April 21, the Returning Officer did not accept it. As a result, she approached the court. The court ordered the Election Commission to accept her nomination paper and take further action according to the law.
