Responding to the opposition’s call, the Prime Minister has formed a parliamentary committee to deal with the energy crisis

In response to the opposition leader’s proposal to form a joint committee to deal with the ongoing global crisis and energy problems, the Prime Minister and Parliament Leader Tarique Rahman have proposed the formation of a 10-member parliamentary committee. Of these, 5 are from the government party and the remaining 5 are from the opposition party. She spoke about the formation of this committee during the session of the National Parliament today, Thursday (April 23). Later, she also announced the names of 5 members from the government party.
The Prime Minister said, we all agree that the energy crisis is a global problem. The opposition leader has proposed that they have some suggestions to deal with this crisis. On which the government and the opposition parties can work together. The Prime Minister also said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party is ready to discuss with anyone for the people of the country. She said, it is in that context that the decision to form this committee has been taken.
The committee will include Power and Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmud and State Minister Anindya Islam Amit from the government party. Besides, the other three MPs are ABM Ashraf Uddin Nijan, Mainul Islam Khan Shanto and Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu.
After the Prime Minister’s speech, the Speaker proposed the election of a chairman. The Prime Minister then announced the name of the Minister of Power and Energy as the chairman of the committee. She also urged the opposition to quickly name five members. Thanking the Prime Minister for forming the committee, the opposition leader said, “We believe that this parliament will be the center for solving all national problems. We will soon name the names for the committee.”
