Customs destroys illegal goods worth Tk 4 crore in Comilla
Customs has destroyed illegal Indian goods worth Tk 4 crore seized at various times in Comilla. These goods were destroyed in a legal process on the banks of the Gumti River in the Kaptanbazar area of the city on Wednesday (April 15) morning. The destroyed goods include banned fireworks, illegal medicines, saris, three-pieces, expired food items and various Indian goods seized by the BGB.
In this context, Nitish Biswas, Joint Commissioner of the Comilla Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate Office, said that this destruction process is a regular and legal process of Customs. The banned and illegal goods seized at various times by law enforcement agencies and unfit for auction were destroyed today. 472 GR goods will be confiscated here. Of these, 90 percent are fireworks and other goods.
