Drug dealer faints after swallowing Yaba due to fear of police

During a police operation in Gournadi, Barisal district, a drug dealer named Sanwar Hossain (35) fainted after swallowing Yaba. He was later rescued and admitted to the hospital under police guard. The incident took place at around 9:30 pm on Sunday (April 12) in the Nilkhola area adjacent to the Torki bus stand of the upazila.
Police said that Sanwar Hossain is a resident of Munshiganj district. He has been involved in drug trafficking from a rented house in the Dakshin Palrori area of ​​Gournadi Municipality for a long time. The police have several drug cases against him.
ASI Md. Sarabat Ali of Gournadi Model Police Station said that during an anti-drug operation in the Nilkhola area, the police arrested Sanwar as a suspect when they were ordered to stop him. At one point, he skillfully chewed and swallowed about 10 to 12 Yaba tablets. After that, he fell ill and lost consciousness.
Later, some more Yaba tablets were recovered after searching his body. Tariq Hasan Russell, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gournadi Model Police Station, said that the man is currently undergoing treatment under police guard. Legal action will be taken against him once he recovers and he will be sent to court.
