Driver killed in covered van-truck collision in Feni
Truck driver Omar Faruk was killed in a covered van-truck collision in Feni. The driver’s assistant was injured. He has been admitted to Feni Sadar Hospital. The accident occurred in front of Rampur Nasir Memorial College in Feni on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at around 2 am on Sunday (March 29).
The deceased truck driver Omar Faruk is a resident of Bogra district. He is the son of Yunus Ali of Domon Pukur village under Shahjadpur police station. Mahipal Highway Police Station OC Asadul Islam said that the truck coming from Chittagong was passing through the Rampur area of Feni at around 2 am. At that time, the driver lost control and hit the back of a Dhaka-bound covered van in front. As a result, the front part of the truck was twisted and the truck driver was killed on the spot.
Upon receiving the information, the highway police quickly reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the Feni Sadar Hospital morgue. In addition, the seriously injured driver’s assistant has been admitted to Feni Sadar Hospital. Police have seized the truck and covered van involved in the accident and taken them to Mahipal Highway Police Station.
