Gold prices rise again

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a hike in gold prices in the country’s market for the second consecutive day. The price of good quality or 22-carat bhori (11.664 grams) gold has been increased by more than Tk 2,000 per bhori to Tk 2,70,430.
BAJUS gave this information in a notification on Wednesday (March 11) morning. The new price has come into effect from 10 am. According to the new price, the price of 21-carat bhori gold has been fixed at Tk 2,58,124, 18-carat bhori at Tk 2,21,266 and traditional bhori gold at Tk 1,80,617.
Regarding the increase in the price of this metal, BAJUS’s notification said that the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold has been fixed considering the overall situation.
In addition, the price of silver has been increased. The price of 22-carat bhori has been increased by Tk 175 to Tk 6,707 per bhori. The price of a 21-carat Bhori has been set at 6,415 taka, an 18-carat Bhori at 5,482 taka, and a traditional silver Bhori at 4,082 taka.
