Child’s body recovered in paddy field

Police have recovered the body of an 11-year-old child from a paddy field in Bil Dharmapur area of ​​Paba upazila of Rajshahi. On Monday (March 2) morning, locals found the child’s body with a pant belt tied around his neck in the paddy field. After that, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Rajshahi Medical College Morgue for autopsy.
The child’s name is Adib Ahnaf. The child is the son of Mostafizur Rahman of the same area. He is a fourth-grade student of Bil Dharmapur Government Primary School.
According to family and local sources, child Adib left home on Sunday (March 1) night to offer Taraweeh prayers at the mosque with his grandfather Shamsul Huda. But he did not return home even after nightfall. Family members and relatives searched in different places in the area but could not find any trace of him. This morning, farmers found the body lying in the paddy field.
The deceased’s maternal uncle, Mokshed Ali, said, “This is a planned murder. My nephew was brutally strangled to death. We want a fair investigation into the incident and exemplary punishment for the culprits.” Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Karnahar Police Station OC Habibur Rahman said, “Initially, the specific reason for the murder is not known. It has not been possible to arrest anyone involved in the incident. The police are investigating the matter. A murder case will be filed in this incident.”
