UAE takes responsibility for food and accommodation for stranded passengers

The ongoing tensions in the Middle East have affected the UAE. Thousands of passengers have been stranded in the country due to the cancellation of flights due to the clashes. However, the UAE government has taken responsibility for their food and accommodation. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a joint US-Israeli ‘Operation Epic Fury’ strike. Iran then launched missile attacks targeting US bases in the Middle East.
The country’s missile attacks have closed major airports in the UAE since last Saturday (February 28). As a result, numerous flights have been canceled. At least 20,000 passengers are stranded in the country. According to UAE state media, the UAE government has stepped in to deal with the situation.
The country’s Department of Culture and Tourism has ordered local hotels to extend the stay of passengers unable to travel until the situation normalizes. The entire cost of the additional stay will be borne by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism. Other sources also said that the emirate will bear the cost.
Iran launched an unprecedented missile and drone attack on Saturday (February 28) in response to US-Israeli attacks. Abu Dhabi and Dubai were targeted. The international airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi were damaged. A video circulating on social media showed passengers waiting in long lines due to canceled flights. Many were forced to spend the night at the airport.
