Mother and daughter killed on their way home after Iftar

A mother and daughter were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a night coach in Debiganj, Panchagarh. Two others were injured in the incident. On Monday (February 23) evening, while returning from her in-laws’ house after Iftar, the motorcycle collided with a Dhaka-bound night coach that Nader had left Debiganj from.
It has been learned that Mamata, the wife of Azad, the younger brother of Amir, the owner of the Singer showroom in Debiganj Municipality, and his 5-year-old daughter Muntaha were killed in a road accident. Locals quickly rescued the 4 injured and took them to the Debiganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Mamata and her daughter Muntaha dead. The two injured, Monirul and Mobashwira, are currently undergoing treatment. Azad’s wife Mamata and their twins, Mobashwira and Muntaha, were on the motorcycle.
Azad’s niece Md. Monirul Islam (30). He is a resident of Sundardighi village in Charpara. Son of Mozammel Haque. After the incident, a shadow of mourning fell on the area and anger arose among the locals. Locals in Sonahar Bazar of the upazila seized the Dhaka-bound Nader night coach. Later, the police recovered the vehicle and took it to the police station and arrested the driver from the Sonahar Bazar counter. It is learnt that legal proceedings are underway in this incident.
