Government does not want relations with India to deteriorate: Finance Advisor
Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus himself is talking through various channels to improve relations with India. Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said that the government does not want relations with such a big neighbor to deteriorate. He said this after the meeting of the Government Procurement Committee on Tuesday (December 23).
The Finance Advisor said that political and economic relations with India should be viewed separately. In terms of politics, there will be diplomatic and sensitive issues. However, in terms of economics, it will cost more to import rice from Vietnam than to import rice from India.
He also said that the statement being made against India is political. The government has nothing to do with it. This statement is complicating the situation. However, he believes that there has been no impact on the commercial and economic relations with the country. He also commented that even if a third country intervenes to worsen relations with India at this time, the government will not interfere.
