Child dies after being hit by trolley in Bauphal

A child named Hafsa Islam (4) died after being hit by an illegal Mahendra trolley in Bauphal, Patuakhali. The deceased Hafsa is the daughter of Amin Khan and Zebina Akhter of Mathbaria village in Dhulia union of the upazila. Yesterday, Sunday (December 21) at around 3:30 pm, a brick-carrying Mahendra trolley ran over child Hafsa on the road in front of Kalishuri Slab Hospital. She died on the spot.
Later, locals arrested Mahendra trolley driver Rafiq and his assistant Rifat from a brick kiln called Meem Brick Field and later handed them over to the police. The killer Mahendra trolley was transporting goods of Meem Bricks Field. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bauphal Police Station Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman told us that on receiving information, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
