‘Not financial support, we want to fulfill Hadi’s dream’

Inquilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman bin Hadi was shot dead by miscreants. Hadi’s elder brother Omar bin Hadi has called for an end to his unfinished struggle. He said the family does not want any financial support or donations. The ideals and revolutionary movement for which Osman gave his life should be fully implemented. He made this call at a prayer meeting organized by Jamaat-e-Islami in Moghbazar this Sunday (December 21) morning.
Osman often told us, if I ever respond to the call of the Lord and leave, then you will be the brother of a martyr. He used to tell my mother that if I leave, you will be the mother of a martyr. There is nothing more proud than that. But I did not want to be the brother of a martyr. I wanted to stand by the revolutionary Osman on the street and free Bangladesh from domination. I wanted justice to reach Bangladesh, we will not leave the streets. But today Osman is gone. May Allah reward him with the highest reward.’
Omar Bin Hadi said, Osman Hadi died while undergoing treatment in Singapore a week after being shot after Friday prayers. His family, Inqilab Manch and fellow fighters of the movement are deeply saddened and mentally disturbed by his martyrdom. We have not yet been able to return to normal life. I do not know if we will be able to return to normal life. At the end of his speech, he sought prayers for Osman Hadi’s eight-month-old baby, his wife and family members. He also mentioned the sacrifices made by his younger sister in raising her two brothers after the death of her father. He sought prayers from everyone for the recovery of his mentally broken sister.
At the event, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Ghulam Parwar said that if the government does not clarify to the people what steps it is taking to arrest those involved in the murder, then the people will question the government’s role. “Swift action must be taken against whoever is involved in the murder, even if they are members of intelligence agencies,” he said. Regarding the upcoming national elections, he said, “The murder of a parliamentary candidate the day after the announcement of the schedule cannot be called an isolated incident. The Election Commission must also take political and administrative responsibility for it.”
