Motorcycle hits truck, 2 killed

Two people were killed when a truck hit them in Gopalganj. The accident occurred at 10:45 pm on Sunday (November 9) at Satpar Paschimpara in Sadar Upazila on the Gopalganj-Tekerhat regional road.
The deceased were motorcycle rider Saroj Bhattacharya (60), son of Satish Chandra Bhattacharya of Dalnia village in Majhigati union of Sadar upazila, and motorcycle driver Bijoy Biswas (22), son of Trinath Biswas of the same village. Gopalganj Baultoli police outpost inspector Afzal Hossain Mollah confirmed this information.
He said that Saroj and Bijoy left for Tekerhat village on a motorcycle last night. When their motorcycle reached Satpar Paschimpara village at 10:45 pm, it hit the back of a gas-filled truck standing on the opposite side of the road. As a result, the motorcycle driver Bijoy Biswas died on the spot. The rider, identified as Saroj Bhattacharya, was taken to a nearby clinic, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
The bodies of the deceased were sent to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy this morning. Police officials said the deceased, Bijoy Biswas, was a hired motorcycle driver.
