Fascism A. League first launched Baksal: Moin Khan
Commenting that Awami League gave birth to fascism in Bangladesh, BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Dr. Abdul Moin Khan said, ‘From 1972 to 1975, Awami League established a one-party rule ‘Baksal’ in the country. They tried to strangle the nation’s freedom-seeking spirit and democracy. Later, under the leadership of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, that Baksal ended through revolution and solidarity and multi-party democracy was established in the country.’
He said these things at a road meeting of the joyous procession organized on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the National Revolution and Solidarity Day at Ghorachattar in Palash Upazila of Narsingdi on Sunday (November 9) morning. Dr. Moin Khan said, ‘Since independence, the people of Bangladesh have been fighting for democracy. They did not hesitate to give their lives for this fight. Even today, BNP leaders and activists are agitating to restore that democracy.’
He further said, ‘Awami League has repeatedly tried to establish a dictatorship in the country by taking away the rights of the people. But the freedom-loving people have never accepted that dictatorship. That is why they have had to flee in the face of the people’s movement every time.’ After the roadshow, the joyous procession circled various roads of the upazila and ended at Panchdona intersection.
Thousands of leaders and activists of Palash Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations participated in the procession. Present at the time were Upazila BNP President Abdus Sattar, General Secretary Saiful Haque, Joint Secretary Bahauddin Bhuiyan Milton, Ghorashal Municipality BNP President Md. Alam Mollah, General Secretary Delwar Hossain, Palash Thana Chhatra Dal President Nazmul Hossain Sohel, Member Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Papon, Municipal Chhatra Dal Convener Amanullah Aman, Member Secretary Ariful Islam Arif, and leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations.
