One killed, three injured in head-on collision between two motorcycles in Joypurhat
One person was killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Joypurhat’s Khetlal upazila.
The accident occurred at around 12:30 pm on Saturday (October 18) in the Kamargari area of the upazila. Three more were injured in the incident.
The injured have been admitted to the hospital. Khetlal Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Karim confirmed the matter.
The deceased has been identified as Nasir Uddin (58). He was the driver of the motorcycle. His home is in Tilabdul Munshipara village of Khetlal upazila.
The injured are Naeem Hossain (22), son of Bhuttu Mia of Islampur village in Khetlal upazila, Habibul (18), son of Khalil of Paikarpara village, and Firoz Hossain (22), son of Saiful Islam of Islampur village.
According to police and eyewitness sources, Habibul was riding a motorcycle with two riders, Naim and Firoz, from Battali Bazar towards Khetlal. Nasir Uddin was coming from the opposite direction on a motorcycle. Four people were injured in a collision between two motorcycles in the Kamargari area on the way. Locals rescued the injured and took them to the hospital. Meanwhile, Nasir Uddin was taken to Khetlal Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Later, Naim, Habibul and Firoz were sent to Joypurhat General Hospital. There, as Naim’s condition was critical, the doctor referred him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra. Habibul has been admitted to Joypurhat Hospital and Firoz Hossain was given primary treatment.
