3 killed in road accident in Tangail
Three people, including a woman, were killed in a bus-truck collision in the Bykhola area of Basail upazila on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. Two others were injured. All the victims were passengers in the bus.
The accident occurred at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday (October 15). The names of the victims were not immediately known.
Police and locals said that the passenger bus of Bhai Bhai Paribahan, which left from Tarakandi in Jamalpur, was heading towards Dhaka. When the bus reached the Bykhola area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, it tried to overtake a truck bound for Dhaka. At that time, it collided with another truck carrying rods bound for Dhaka. A woman died on the spot. At that time, the police rescued 14 injured people and sent them to Tangail General Hospital. At that time, the doctor on duty declared two of them dead.
In this regard, Basail Police Station OC Md. Jalal Uddin told us that efforts are being made to identify the three deceased bus passengers. The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their relatives after the legal process is completed.
