After father, son die in AC explosion in Jatrabari

After four members of the same family were burnt in an AC explosion in Dhalpur, Jatrabari, a boy also died while undergoing treatment. The child’s name is Tanvir (9).
The child died while undergoing treatment at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute at 7 am today, Monday (September 29).
Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, resident physician at the institute, confirmed the death. He told us that Tanvir’s body was burnt 40 percent.
Earlier, the child’s father Md. Tuhin Hossain (38) died while undergoing treatment at 12:30 pm on Wednesday. He suffered 47 percent burns.
It is worth noting that the incident took place at 1:30 am on Friday, September 20, in a rented house in a seven-storey building in Dhalpur Boubazar area under Jatrabari police station. Later, the burnt victims were rescued and taken to the unit of the National Burn Institute. Currently, two more are undergoing treatment. They are Tuhin Hossain’s wife Iba Akhter (30) and son Touhid (7).
Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, resident physician of the institute, said that 15 percent of Iba Akhter’s body and 8 percent of Touhid’s body were burned.
Farzana Akhter, younger sister of Iba Akhter, who was brought to the hospital, said that everyone was sleeping in the seventh-floor room at around 1:30 am last Friday. At that time, an explosion from the AC spread the fire throughout the house. Four people were burned in it.
Tuhin Hossain’s village home is in Kunia village of Madaripur Sadar upazila. By profession, he works as a mobile servicing at Motaleb Plaza. Currently, he lives with his family in the Dalpur Boubazar area under Jatrabari police station.
