Horrific motorcycle accident in Madaripur: 1 dead, 4 injured
A young man named Rakib (22) was killed in a collision between two motorcycles in Madaripur. 4 others were injured. The incident took place on Friday (September 19) night at Habiganj Bridge in Sadar Upazila.
The deceased Rakib is the son of Abu Kalam of Kalikapur village in Sadar Upazila. The injured are – Sohan Bepari, son of Dabir Bepari, Naeem Howlader, son of Jibon Howlader, Shuvo, son of Shahidul Sardar, and Ajit Baroi, son of Niranjan Baroi.
Police and locals said that in the afternoon, Rakib and his friends went to watch a boat race on two motorcycles in the Arial Khan River in Habiganj area of Dhurail Union in Sadar Upazila. While returning at night, the two motorcycles carrying them collided at Habiganj Bridge. Rakib died on the spot. 4 others were injured at that time. They have been rescued and admitted to the 250-bed District Hospital in Madaripur.
Adil Hossain, OC of Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station, told us that police were sent to the scene after receiving information. Initially, it was learned that the accident occurred due to reckless motorcycle riding.
