Dengue deaths this year: 127, infected 32,000
In the last 24 hours, 2 people have died due to dengue across the country. During this period, 445 new infected people have been admitted to the hospital. This information was given in a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services today, Wednesday (September 3). It said that among the patients admitted to the hospital due to dengue fever in the last 24 hours, 78 are in Barisal division, 98 in Chittagong division, 69 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 59 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 87 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 24 in Mymensingh division, 21 in Rajshahi division, 6 in Rangpur division and 3 in Sylhet division. In the last 24 hours, 417 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital. So far this year, 31,230 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital. As of September 3 of this year, 127 people have died due to dengue. 32,946 people have been infected with dengue. Of these, 60.4 percent are men and 39.6 percent are women. From January to December 31, 2024, a total of 1 lakh 1 thousand 214 people were infected with dengue and a total of 575 people died of dengue. Earlier, from January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1 thousand 705 people died of dengue, while a total of 3 lakh 21 thousand 179 people were hospitalized due to dengue.
