Housewife hacked to death, tension in Pirojpur

A housewife named Asma Akhtar (45) was hacked to death in her house in Junia village of Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur by miscreants. The murder took place on Saturday (August 30) evening after Maghrib prayers. The deceased Asma Akhtar is the wife of farmer Alamgir Hossain Howlader of the village. The deceased’s cousin and UP member Md. Shahidul Islam said that Asma was sitting on the prayer mat after offering Maghrib prayers. At that time, his son’s wife entered the house after performing ablution and saw the bloody body of her mother-in-law lying on the floor. Bhandaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Jahangir Hossain confirmed the matter and said that the police are on the spot after receiving information. Details will be provided after the investigation.
