Three-day remand granted to four accused in Sisa Bar murder case

A court has granted 3-day remand to four accused arrested in the stabbing death of a young man named Rahat Hossain Rabbi (31) at a Sisa Bar on Road No. 11 in Banani, the capital. On Tuesday (August 19), the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Ziadur Rahman granted the remand. The accused are Mir Hossain (22), Fazle Rabbi (24), Sabbir Ahmed Sumon (30) and Arafat Islam Fahim (27). The case was produced in court today and Banani Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Amjad Sheikh, the investigation officer of the case, applied for a seven-day remand for each of them. Later, the lawyers for the accused rejected the remand and applied for bail. The state opposed the bail of the accused. After hearing both sides, the judge granted a three-day remand for each of them. Rahat Hossain Rabbi was stabbed on the stairs of a building while leaving a Sisa bar in Banani early on Thursday (August 14). He was taken to the hospital in a serious condition, but doctors declared him dead.
