Madaripur Imam killed in road accident

Maulana Abdur Rahman (37), the imam of a mosque, was killed when his motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree in Shibchar, Madaripur. The accident occurred on the Banshkandi-Sheikhpur regional road early on Monday (August 18). The deceased Maulana Abdur Rahman’s home is in Ward No. 6 of the upazila’s Dakshin Bashankandi Union. He used to lead the prayer at a mosque in Panchagram in the same area. According to hospital and family sources, Maulana Abdur Rahman left his home on a motorcycle to lead the Fajr prayer in the mosque as usual. On the way, when he reached the Banshkandi-Sheikhpur regional road, his motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree on the side of the road. Abdur Rahman suffered serious head injuries. Later, locals rescued him and brought him to the Shibchar Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared him dead.
