Rizvi alleges that religious-based party’s propaganda is targeting BNP

A religious-based political party is spreading propaganda against BNP to hide its misdeeds, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged. He said this at a press conference organized at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan at 11 am on Wednesday (August 13). Rizvi said that a doctor who went viral in Chittagong was not extorted; the authorities have taken action against him for constructing a building outside the design. No one attacked him—he came live with paint on his nose and spread propaganda against BNP leaders and activists. Rizvi Ahmed condemned the incident. He said that elections are ahead, so all this is being done with a special purpose. Apart from this, this senior BNP leader also condemned the killing of two people of traditional religion in Rangpur by a mob (attack). He said that the mob has become like a cancer. Let there be a law so that no one dares to take the law into their own hands. Rizvi also said that during the Awami League era, more than Tk 2,000 crore of looted money was kept in Farmers Bank. Now, even though it is operating under the name of Padma Bank, there is no trace of that money. He urged the government to be sincere in recovering this looted money. Stating that the people of the country are not yet ready for the PR (proportional representation) system, Rizvi said that those making this demand are trying to create complications. He also said that on the occasion of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s birthday, a doa mahfil will be organized in BNP offices or mosques across the country, including Dhaka, next Friday. There, prayers will also be offered for the martyrs of the democratic movement.
