Former Chhatra Dal leader’s throat slit body recovered in Moulvibazar
The throat slit body of a former Chhatra Dal leader named Abdur Rahim Rafi (25) has been recovered from his house in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar. The deceased Rafi was the former president of Rahimpur Union Chhatra Dal. His throat slit body was recovered from his house in Siddheshwarpur village of Rahimpur Union of Kamalganj Upazila on Saturday (August 9) morning. The deceased Rafi is the nephew of Abdul Jabbar, former general secretary of the Munshibazar Businessmen’s Association, and the son of the deceased Abdus Chattar. Relatives said that Rafi did not wake up in the morning. After knocking, they opened the door and saw Rafi’s bloody body lying on the bed with his throat slit. Panic spread in the area. Munshibazar Union Parishad Chairman Nahid Ahmed Tarafdar said, “We saw the body when we arrived at the scene.” It is believed to be a gruesome murder, but it is not yet confirmed who committed the incident. Kamalganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Shamim Akonji said that senior police officials have reached the spot. A preliminary investigation is underway and necessary measures are being taken to uncover the cause.
