Two brothers killed in bus collision in Bogra

Two brothers in a CNG-powered autorickshaw were killed in a bus collision in Bogra’s Shajahanpur. Three others, including their two uncles, were injured in the incident. The seriously injured have been admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMEC) Hospital. The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in front of the Proyas School in Majhira Union of the upazila at around 12:30 am on Friday (August 8). The deceased are Md. Akash (25) and Md. Arif (21), two sons of Hazrat Ali of Banmaricha village in Sherpur upazila of Bogra. The injured are their uncles Haider Ali (50), Abdul Aziz (38) and Md. Palash (35). Shajahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam Palash confirmed the matter. He said that at 12:20 pm, a CNG-powered autorickshaw from Bogra city to Sherpur reached in front of the Proyas School and collided head-on with a bus coming from the opposite direction. The autorickshaw twisted and Akash died on the spot. He further said that the four seriously injured were rescued by fire service personnel and taken to Shajimech Hospital, where Arif died during treatment. Their two uncles, Haider Ali and Abdul Aziz, and Palash are undergoing treatment at the hospital. The autorickshaw damaged in the accident has been kept in the custody of the Highway Police Sherpur camp.
