A child’s life was cut short by a vimorul bite in Madaripur
A three-year-old child named Alifa died after being bitten by a vimorul in Madaripur. At the same time, another child is hospitalized with injuries. The incident took place on Wednesday (August 6) afternoon in the Madharchar area of Khwajpur Union in Sadar Upazila. Later in the evening, the child died while undergoing treatment at the district hospital. The deceased Alifa is the only daughter of Raju Matubbar, an expatriate from the Madharchar area. According to relatives and local sources, Alifa was playing with another child on the road next to their house in the Madharchar area of Sadar Upazila. At that time, vimorul suddenly came from Bhimrul’s house on the side of the road and bit the two children all over their bodies. Later, hearing the children’s screams, people in the vicinity rushed to rescue the two and took them to the district hospital for treatment. But child Alifa died while undergoing treatment there due to the poisoning of vimorul. The other child, who was bitten by Bhimrul, is reportedly admitted to another private hospital. However, his name and address were not immediately known. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station, Monowar Hossain Chowdhury, confirmed the incident.
