‘Complications of nuclear power plants will be resolved soon’
The new Russian Ambassador Alexander G. Khojin has expressed hope that the complications related to the payment of money for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant will be resolved soon.
He expressed this optimism after a meeting with Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain and Secretary Jasim Uddin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday morning.
The new ambassador said, “The technical team is working on this issue. Both countries are positive about the overall relationship, including the local currency.”
At the time, he also said, “Russia will hire people in the agriculture and shipbuilding industries in Bangladesh. However, before that, Russia wants to discuss this in detail and sign an agreement with Bangladesh.”
He also said, “Russia is interested in hiring more skilled manpower from Bangladesh, including simplifying the visa procedure.”
Earlier this morning, newly appointed Russian Ambassador Alexander G. Khojin paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain and Foreign Secretary Jasim Uddin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During this time, they discussed the expansion of existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Russia in various fields, including trade and investment.
Mentioning Russia’s continued support for the development of Bangladesh, they also discussed the timely completion of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project.
