Two killed after auto-rickshaw loses control in Lalmonirhat
Two people died after an auto-rickshaw lost control and overturned in Mahishkhocha of Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat. Three more were injured in the incident.
It is learnt that on Saturday (October 25) at around 10 am, while heading from Mahishkhocha towards Aditmari upazila, Ansar lost control in the Khar Pukur area and fell into a low-lying paddy field nearby. Atiqul Islam died on the spot after being crushed under the auto-rickshaw. Meanwhile, the rest were rescued and taken to the local Upazila Health Complex. The seriously injured Ataur Rahman Bakul was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he died. The auto-rickshaw driver has been absconding since the incident.
Aditmari police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Rezaul Islam told us that the body was recovered and handed over as there was no complaint from the family. Necessary legal action is under process in this regard. The deceased were identified as Ataur Rahman Bakul (52), son of the late Tofailur Rahman of Dakshin Balapara in Brahmattar area of Mahishkhocha Union, and Atiqul Islam (30), son of Azizar Rahman of Mahishashahar area.
