Twins crushed to death under train in Faridpur
Two children, Taib (5) and Tahmid (5), died under a train in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur. The incident took place today, Wednesday (April 1) at around 2 pm near Laxmandia railway station in Noapara union of the upazila.
According to local sources, a local train heading from Rajbari to Bhatiapara inadvertently stepped on the railway track while it was moving at high speed, causing the twin children to fall under the train. They died on the spot. Immediately after the accident, a shadow of grief descended on the area and panic spread among the locals.
Madhukhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fakir Md. Taizur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that the police left for the spot as soon as the news was received. He said, initially we have come to know that the twin children were crushed to death under the train. Details will be known after the investigation of the incident.
Meanwhile, after the accident, locals quickly rushed to the scene and helped bring the situation under control. The names of the deceased children were immediately known, but their identities were not known.
