Political parties and commissions to meet on legal aspects of July Charter today

The National Consensus Commission is going to hold a dialogue with political parties on Sunday (September 14) on the legal basis and implementation method of the July Charter. BNP, Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) and Jamaat-e-Islami and other political parties have been invited to the dialogue at 2.30 pm. The party’s press wing announced that BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed will participate in the dialogue. Some of the invited parties said that Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus may participate in today’s meeting. Although there is consensus among the parties on the July Charter, the commission could not decide on the implementation process. Meanwhile, the commission led by Dr. Ali Riaz has proposed implementing the July Charter through referendum, special constitutional order, ordinance and executive order. The commission last met with political parties on these issues on September 11.
