Mentally disabled woman killed in train accident in Madaripur
A mentally disabled woman named Asura Begum (55) was killed in a train accident in Shibchar, Madaripur. The accident occurred in the Dewankandi area of the Madbarchar-Kathalbari border of Shibchar upazila on Sunday (November 23) afternoon. The deceased Asura Begum is the wife of the deceased Karim Sheikh of the Dewankandi area of the Kanthalbari union.
According to local sources, locals saw the body of a woman lying next to the railway line in the Dewankandi area of the Madbarchar-Kathalbari border at around 3 pm today. Later, the locals informed the police and the body was recovered. Family members said that she was going to cross the railway line to get grass for her goats. Shibchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Rakibul Islam said that the police recovered the body from the scene.
