He slipped and fell under the train, seriously injured, later died in hospital

Jamal Uddin ran to board a moving train on his way home. He immediately slipped and was seriously injured. Later, locals rescued him with serious injuries and took him to the hospital. He died while undergoing treatment at 12:15 pm on Sunday (November 2).
The tragic accident occurred at 9:10 pm at the rail gate of Sreepur Municipality in Gazipur. The deceased Jalal Uddin (50) is the son of the deceased Tayyab Uddin of Beparipara area of ​​Nidhia Char village in ward number 9 of Char Algi Union of Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh district. He used to come to sell vegetables at Sreepur market.
Eyewitnesses said that the Dewanjang-bound intercity Brahmaputra Express and Dhaka-bound Mahua Commuter Express trains were standing at Sreepur station at 9:10 pm yesterday. As the train was leaving, Jalal ran to board the Brahmaputra Express train. At that time, he slipped and fell in front of the Commuter Express train. The train dragged him about 40 feet away. He then lay under the train for about a minute.
Later, locals rescued him and first took him to the Sripur Health Complex. As his condition was critical, the doctor sent him to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment at around 12:15 am.
Eyewitness Madrasa teacher Misbah Uddin said, “I had forbidden the man to run. Still, he slipped and fell in front of the train. There was no chance of saving him. After the train left, we rescued him and sent him to the hospital. I came to know that Jalal is a resident of my union. He died at night.”
Dr. Jannatul Ferdous, a doctor at the emergency department of the Upazila Health Complex, said that the seriously injured man was brought to the hospital at night. Since his condition is critical, he has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital after primary treatment.
Confirming the matter, Charlagi UP ward number 9 member Md. Shahidul Islam Dulu said, Jalal was injured in a train accident in Sreepur. He died while undergoing treatment at night. His funeral was held in his village at 11 am today.
In this regard, Sreepur Station Working Master Md. Saidur Rahman said, “Two trains were standing at the station at night. I heard that one fell while running to board the train. No details are known about this.” Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Barik said, police have been sent to the spot after receiving the news. Railway Police will take action regarding the train accident.
