Father, main accused in son’s murder arrested from Sylhet

The father, Md. Nuruzzaman (65), the main accused in the murder of university student Shahed in Mirsarai, Chittagong, and his second wife have been arrested by RAB-7 and police from Sylhet. RAB-7 and the police jointly conducted a drive in the Dakshin Surma Police Station area of ​​Sylhet district and were able to arrest Nuruzzaman and his second wife while they were hiding. A press conference was held by RAB-7 at the Media Center of CPC-3, Chandgaon Camp (Bahaddarhat), Chittagong, at 11 am on Tuesday to provide detailed information about the arrested accused. It is worth mentioning that Shahed, a student of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Chittagong International Islamic University, was murdered by his father last Wednesday. According to local sources, Shahed went home with his mother Kamruzzaman and local dignitaries after hearing the news that his father Nuruzzaman had remarried and brought him home. At that time, Nuruzzaman suddenly grabbed his wife Kamruzzaman’s hair. When Shahed came forward to protect his mother, Nuruzzaman stabbed his son in the chest with a knife. Shahed died on the spot. After the incident, the deceased’s mother Kamruzzaman filed a murder case with Mirsarai Police Station, making her husband Nuruzzaman the main accused. Police said that the arrested accused will be handed over to the court after the legal process is completed.
