Display of pictures of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina in the presence of Advisor Farida, angry reaction
The display of pictures of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina in the presence of Advisor Farida Akhtar in the virtual presentation of the Livestock Department in Rangpur has drawn sharp criticism. Expressing anger over this, the advisor said, “This is not acceptable, we are seeing many forms of fascism.” This Sunday (September 14) afternoon, the Livestock Department organized a departmental progress review workshop of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Project at the Rokeya Auditorium of Rangpur RDRS. Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar was present on the stage as the chief guest. After the workshop started, Project Director Golam Rabbani presented a virtual presentation on the departmental progress review of the project. It can be seen that the pictures of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina and their messages were displayed in the mini-script. Despite the uproar, he continued his presentation. Responding to journalists’ questions, Advisor Farida said, “This is actually insulting. It is not acceptable to have their (Sheikh Mujib and Sheikh Hasina’s) pictures on the blood of so many people during the interim period. Many such incidents are happening. We should not think that fascism has gone. Fascism has many forms. Some of its reflections can be like this. However, whenever we feel it, we take action.” She also said that the project director told me that it was done by mistake. He apologized. I apologized to everyone. I need to know the matter better. But of course, I will take action in this regard. At that time, Advisor Farida said, the responsibility of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock is to control all animal diseases. If we are going to give meat, milk and eggs to people, then we have to give them to people safely. Animals have to be free from diseases. That is why we have targeted vaccine production. Because the price of vaccines increases due to imports. Farmers in the private sector face many problems. We have a plan to bring all animals under vaccination. He also said, “The spread of disease from animals to humans is very serious. That’s why we are working with the World Health Organization. It’s called the One Health concept. We will prevent human health and animal health at the same time.”
