Bikash employee shot and robbed of 15 lakh taka

A Bikash employee was shot and robbed of about 15 lakh taka in Tongi, Gazipur. Two people were injured during this time. The incident took place on Anarkali Road in Tongi at around 7:30 pm yesterday, Saturday (December 13). The injured Bikash agent employee Arif Hossain (35) is the son of Delwar Hossain of Dattapara House Building area in Tongi. The injured assistant is named Azad, he is a resident of the same area.
Police said that Arif is an employee of Bikash agent. He collected 14 lakh 77 thousand taka from various Bikash shops in Tongi Bazar with his assistant Azad and came in front of Maa Safurunnesa Super Market, No. 8, Anarkali Road under Tongi East Police Station. As soon as they reached there, the robbers, who were already planning a plot, first opened fire on Arif Hossain. The Bikash employee was shot on the right side of the chest and a bullet wound was made on the left side of the chest. At the same time, the terrorists seriously injured the victim’s assistant Azad with a sharp weapon. When both were seriously injured, the robbers snatched about 1.5 lakh taka from them and quickly fled the scene. The people around rescued Arif Hossain and Azad and took them to Tongi Government Hospital.
Assistant Surgeon of Tongi Government Hospital Dr. Mosa. Nahida Sultana said that after the bleeding stopped, the injured person was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The other injured person has been admitted to the hospital. In this regard, OC of Tongi East Police Station Mehedi Hasan told us that 14 lakh 77 thousand taka was snatched by shooting. A drive is underway to arrest the accused.
