The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered 1 lakh pieces of Yaba tablets buried underground from the Marine Drive Road area of ​​Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. A drug dealer has been arrested during this time. The arrested Mohammad Hakim (23) is the son of Nurul Islam of the area. Assistant Director of RAB-15 A. M. Faruk confirmed the matter on Thursday (January 8) morning.
He said that on Wednesday afternoon, based on secret information, a team of RAB-15 conducted a raid in the Noakhalipara area of ​​Baharchhara Union under Teknaf Model Police Station. On the way from Teknaf to Cox’s Bazar, a raid was conducted on a betel barge along the Marine Drive Road and a person was arrested.
During the raid, the arrested person brought out the consignment of Yaba buried underground with his own hands. Among the recovered drugs were 10 packets wrapped in white polythene. There were a total of 500 airtight zipper packets, each containing 50 tablets. A total of 100,000 Yaba tablets, 200 in each packet, were found. An Android mobile phone was also seized. He further said that intelligence surveillance and operations are continuing to curb terrorism and drug smuggling. A case is being processed under the relevant laws against the arrests.
