252 more people diagnosed with dengue, admitted to hospital
In the last 24 hours, 252 people have been admitted to hospital due to dengue. However, no one has died due to the Aedes mosquito-borne disease during this period. This information was given in a press release sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday (August 14). It said that a maximum of 89 people have been admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City from 8 am yesterday, Wednesday (August 13) to 8 am today, Thursday. In addition, 65 people have been admitted in Barisal division (outside the City Corporation), 32 in Dhaka division, 25 in Chittagong division, 16 in Rajshahi division, 14 in Khulna division, 6 in Mymensingh division and 5 in Rangpur division. A total of 25,576 patients have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue since January this year. Out of these, 10,000 patients were admitted in July alone. So far this year, 104 people have died due to this Aedes mosquito-borne disease. Among the dead, 61 were men and 43 were women.
