Rods, bricks and stones thrown at car: Sarjis
A convoy of Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) leaders was attacked in Golapganj of Sylhet district. In this context, Sarjis Alam, the party’s chief organizer for the northern region, said on Thursday (July 30), while we were leaving after meeting the martyr’s family, 20-30 Chhatra Dal terrorists threw rods, bricks and stones at our car, shouting slogans like ‘Ziar Sainik, Ek Hok’.
Showing the pictures of the attack on the car to journalists, Sarjis said that this picture could be an indication of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman walking on the path of Sheikh Hasina’s dictatorship. Tarique Rahman is walking on the path of Sheikh Hasina. This incident is proof of the ongoing efforts to turn Chhatra Dal into another terrorist force.
He also said that if the brick had hit any of us, we could have died on the spot. So does Tarique Rahman also want to turn Chhatra Dal into a murderous force like Sheikh Hasina? If so, he should make a public announcement. We will prepare accordingly. We did not think that Chhatra Dal would be used as a terrorist force like this. The attack took place in the presence of the police, but they just stood by and watched without taking any action. Sarjis alleged that one of our 18-year-old workers, Alif, was injured by hitting him in the eye with a rod. But no one has been arrested in Habiganj so far. This also raises questions about the impartiality of the police. He also said that the police are working under political influence. At the same time, he told Tarique Rahman that if he wants to do politics in an authoritarian manner, he should make it clear. They will also decide their political strategy accordingly.
