Protest in front of the White House against Netanyahu’s visit to Washington

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters have demonstrated in front of the White House against the visit of occupying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States. Participants in the demonstration held in Washington on Monday (July 27) carried Palestinian flags and displayed various slogans and placards criticizing US support for Israel.
The placards held by the protesters read, ‘Stop the US-Israeli war machine’, ‘Expose Israel’s influence in Washington’ and ‘Palestinian human rights matter too’. The protest took place outside the White House even after Netanyahu arrived in Washington on Tuesday (July 28) for a meeting with US President Donald Trump. The two leaders are expected to discuss a range of issues, including the situation in Gaza, regional security and US-Israeli relations.
This will be Trump’s eighth meeting with Netanyahu since he was elected to a second term. After his meeting with Trump, Netanyahu is scheduled to attend a memorial service for the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. Graham has long been known as one of Israel’s staunchest supporters.
Various human rights organizations and pro-Palestinian groups have long criticized Washington for its continued support for Israel’s military operation in the Gaza Strip. They allege that this support has deepened the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. According to reports, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s military operation in Gaza began on October 7, 2023. Most of the dead are women and children.
