Netanyahu on his way to Washington despite arrest warrant
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is visiting the United States despite an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The occupation country’s Arabic-language X account reported that Netanyahu has left for Washington, D.C. at the invitation of Donald Trump.
During the visit, the two leaders will discuss Israel-US relations and a range of issues of importance to both countries. This will be Netanyahu’s seventh meeting with Donald Trump since he returned to power in January 2025. Netanyahu has met with him more times than any other world leader during Trump’s current term.
However, in November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of crimes against humanity during the Gaza war. New York Mayor Zohar Mamdani has also requested Netanyahu’s arrest on war crimes charges.
