IIT Madras asks students to delete videos of student protests

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has asked students to delete posts and videos from social media in support of the ongoing student protests in Delhi. Some of the students of the institute had posted these videos on Instagram in support of the ongoing protests and hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
A student, who did not want to be named, said that on Thursday (July 23), they were asked to remove these posts on the instructions of the dean and faculty advisor. A message sent to the students mentioned that all the videos and posts made in solidarity with the authorities are being deleted.
Recently, students from all over the country have been expressing their support for the Jantar Mantar movement through slogans, banners and social media videos. In this situation, such a move by the IIT Madras authorities has sparked a discussion among the students.
