Explosion due to gas leakage in Bhatara, 3 members of the same family burnt

Three members of the same family were burnt in an explosion caused by a gas line leakage in a house in the Notun Bazar 100 Feet Road area of ​​Bhatara police station in the capital. The accident occurred early on Tuesday (July 21). Immediately after the explosion, local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the burnt people. Later, they were quickly admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, where they are undergoing treatment.
The burnt people are Md. Shahin (24), his wife Md. Fahima Akhtar (21) and Shahin’s eight-year-old niece Hafsa Akhtar. Initially, it is believed that gas had accumulated inside the house due to a leakage in the house’s gas line. The explosion occurred due to a spark created when the stove or electric switch was turned on in the morning. However, the concerned authorities are investigating the matter to find out the exact cause of the explosion.
Panic spread in the area after the incident. Locals said that the sound of the explosion brought the nearby residents out of the house and helped send the injured to the hospital quickly. Bhatara Police Station and Fire Service said that they are inspecting the scene to investigate the real cause of the explosion. They have also advised to ensure the safety of gas lines to avoid such accidents in the future.
