China stands by Saudi Arabia

China has stood by Saudi Arabia following the recent ballistic missile attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. Beijing has made it clear that the sovereignty and security of countries in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, must be respected.
Recently, Saudi Arabia successfully intercepted several ballistic missiles fired by Houthi rebels into its airspace. At a press conference after the incident, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian reiterated China’s position on Saudi Arabia, citing ongoing regional tensions, especially the conflict between the United States and Iran.
Spokesperson Lin Jian told reporters that China does not support and strongly opposes attacks targeting civilian facilities. He stressed that it is of utmost importance to safeguard the sovereignty and security of other countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia.
Stressing the need to restore long-term peace and stability in the Middle East, Lin Jian also said that Beijing always supports resolving any disputes through political and diplomatic means. He called on all parties to choose the path of dialogue and diplomacy to create an environment for the speedy restoration of peace and stability in the region.
It is worth noting that this official statement from Beijing comes after Yemen’s Houthi rebels, known as Ansar Allah, threatened to impose a blockade or ‘blockade’-like situation on Saudi Arabia in response to the recent attack on Sanaa International Airport.
