Rashed Khan is the Prime Minister’s Political Assistant

Rashed Khan has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Political Assistant with the rank of Secretary on a contractual basis. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a government notification in this regard on Sunday (July 19). It said that he has been appointed to this important post on the condition that he leaves any other profession, business or existing employment relationship with any government, semi-government, autonomous or private institution and organization.
It also said that Rashed Khan’s appointment will be effective from the date of his joining. The term of this appointment will be till the tenure of the Prime Minister or subject to the satisfaction of the Prime Minister, whichever occurs first. Incidentally, Rashed Khan was defeated from Jhenaidah-4 (Kaliganj Upazila and Sadar Partly) constituency as a BNP nominee in the 13th National Parliament election. Earlier, he left the People’s Administration and joined the BNP. He was the General Secretary of the People’s Rights Council.
