Israeli strikes kill 14 in Gaza
Fourteen people have been killed in Israeli strikes in various parts of the Palestinian enclave of Gaza. Eight of them were killed in an attack on a funeral in the Al-Balata market area of the Nusairat refugee camp in central Gaza on Friday (July 17), Al Jazeera reported on Saturday (July 18).
Witnesses said the drone strike targeted worshippers gathered outside the Ahmed Yassin mosque in the Al-Balata market area for the funeral of a Palestinian killed in a separate attack earlier in the day. Eight people were killed at the time. AFP reported that the Israeli military confirmed the attack.
The Israeli military said it had carried out an attack on a terrorist group in central Gaza. The Israeli military is aware of allegations that several innocent people were injured in the attack. The results of the attack are under review.
