Government wants to bring Sheikh Hasina back to the country through legal process: Home Minister

The government wants to bring Sheikh Hasina back to the country through legal process. Necessary legal steps have been taken in this regard and the Indian government will look into the matter according to their laws and procedures, said Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed. He said these things at a briefing at the Secretariat on Thursday (July 16) morning.
The Home Minister said that even though Sheikh Hasina has repeatedly spoken about extradition to the country, the government wants to bring her back from India through legal process. Since she has been sentenced, legal experts will tell whether there is a chance for her to surrender to the court. However, if she returns to the country as a convicted accused, she will be arrested and measures will be taken to implement the verdict.
Meanwhile, regarding the recent student movement, he said that some quarters want to embarrass the government. They want to fish in murky waters by hiding their identities on various issues. Many of those who are agitating are not actually exam candidates. However, he also commented that their number is not very large and the government is not giving them much importance.
The Home Minister claimed that propaganda has been spread against the police through various social media platforms. He said, these are some fake news. The real facts, information, pictures, videos are in front of you. Some people may be using them to create tension through various social media platforms. At the same time, he also said that the government is trying to bring back top terrorists living abroad and bring them under the law.
