Van driver murdered in Pabna
A van driver named Nasher Ali (42) was murdered by miscreants in Pabna’s Chatmohar upazila. The incident took place on Wednesday (July 8) at around 10:30 pm near the Boyalmari graveyard in the upazila. Chatmohar Circle Assistant Police Superintendent Nasher Munshi confirmed the matter. The deceased Nasher Ali is the son of deceased Khorshed Ali of Agshayil Toltalipara village of Haripur union of the upazila.
According to police and local sources, Nasher was heading towards Chaikola in a van with passengers on Wednesday night. From there, on his way back to Chatmohar, miscreants stopped him east of the Boyalmari graveyard. At one point, the miscreants stabbed him and slit his throat and fled. Nasher, who was seriously injured, ran to the door of a nearby Sabuj’s house and fell there. He died on the spot.
Chatmohar Circle Assistant Police Superintendent Nasher Munshi said that after receiving information from the locals, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. Later, the deceased was identified and his relatives were informed. The relatives went to the spot and identified the body as Naser Ali. The body will be sent to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. He also said that initially it is believed that Naser was killed for hijacking an autovan. However, the police are working to find out the real reason and identify those involved in the incident. The deceased’s autovan has been seized from the scene.
