Old man beaten to death over land dispute in Chuadanga

A man was killed over a land dispute in Alamdanga, Chuadanga. The incident took place at around 9 am today, Thursday (July 9) in Gobindapur Tamaltola village of the upazila. The deceased was identified as Palan Uddin (80), son of the deceased Chairuddin of the village.
Locals said that Palan’s family had been in a land dispute for a long time. This morning, the people who were disputing the disputed land attacked him. He was seriously injured. Later, he was rescued in a bloody and seriously injured state and taken to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Alamdanga Police Station OC Bani Israel said that after receiving information, the police recovered the body from the hospital. The body has been sent to the morgue of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Preparations are underway to file a case in this incident and the police have launched a drive to arrest those involved in the incident.
